Living in Our Parish
The Parish of Little Missenden is situated in the rolling Chiltern Hills in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) designated officially as an AONB 1965. In parts the Parish is some 600 feet (180 metres) above sea level. The Chiltern Hills form a chalk escarpment and are known locally as "the Chilterns". www.chilternsaonb.org
Four villages comprise the Parish. The Wards of Holmer Green with Beamond End, Hyde Heath, Little Kingshill and Little Missenden. Facts relating to each of these villages can be found by clicking on the named links.
The Parish has a wealth of Public Footpaths, Bridleways and Rights of Way which are enjoyed by people of all ages. The Chilterns Cycleway also passes through the Parish at many points. www.cyclinguk.org/article/cycling-guide/chilterns-cycleway
Each of the four villages are within easy access of Amersham, Beaconsfield and High Wycombe for mainline Chiltern Railways trains and additionally at Amersham the Metropolitan Line. The M1, M4,M25 and M40 are all easily accessible as are London Heathrow and Luton airports.
